Portfolio Projects
These portfolios are team projects where you will work on subject or interdisciplinary teams with two
to three classmates. Middle level curriculum to be deep, involving critical thinking skills. Developing
these types of curricula are more readily accomplished with multiple people working together. Self-
and peer-assessment will be part of the grade for each portfolio assignment.
The portfolios will have various components: explanation, essential concepts, standards, pedagogy,
culminating activity, assessment, and professionalism. You will receive a copy of the grading rubric as
part of each assignment. In addition, we will make an effort to build in time during the course for
your teams to work on the portfolios.
